Double Settlements for Attorney Jorge Mares

Attorney, Jorge Mares, is entering 2024 with a *bang!* Recently Jorge led his team in settling two policy limit cases which provided justice to our clients.

In a recent victory, Attorneys Jorge Mares and Chloe Shrode, and their team, put the pedal to the metal and forced the insurance carrier to tender the full insurance policy of $1,250,000.00 early in the litigation process in a case where our client was required to have surgery after being involved in a crash caused by the driver of her vehicle. Their refusal to take their eyes off the goal resulted in our client obtaining justice.

In addition to that settlement, Jorge along with Attorney David Fuentes, and their team, refused to sleep and never laid off the offense in their work ethic. Their passion for justice resulted in forcing an insurance company to tender their full policy limits of $500,000.00 in a case where a company vehicle driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into our client.
This *bang* created by Jorge’s teams are a true indication of what will happen when you hire the right lawyers and never back down from a fight.

Jorge has made it his mission to help as many clients as he can this year. His hard work and dedication are unwavering. Keep fighting the good fight and great job for setting the tone for the year!

Airport Shuttle Auto Accident Settlement

Airport shuttles are a convenient way to transport when you are looking to get to and from the airport. Passengers enter the vehicle under the assumption that they will be safely transported to their destination, but that is not always the case.

Our client was a passenger on a shuttle traveling to his destination when the driver abruptly stopped causing him to fall out of his seat. He sustained serious injuries due to the fall. Our attorneys Rebecca Page, Oscar Quiroz, and their team worked hard to confidentially settle this case for the client. Through their thorough work and diligence our client was able to begin the road to recovery. Kudos, team!

Workplace Accident Settlement

Safety Rules are set in place to help prevent injuries on a worksite for all those who enter the property. In our recent settlement, the general contractor had two sets of rules – one for his employees and a less strict version for his subcontractors. Our client was a subcontractor who unfortunately fell to his death in a preventable accident. If a harness had been required as it was for the employees of the General Contractor, he would not have fallen. Unfortunately, that was not the case.

Attorneys Shalimar Wallis, Mike Murray, and Chloe Shrode wasted no time in their pursuit of justice for our client. They made sure that the case was built on a firm foundation of facts that supported the wrongdoings of the General Contractor. During the course of their diligence, they learned this General Contractor had been cited on four other occasions for their failure to require harnesses on the job site by the company’s own safety consultant. These inspection reports were the smoking gun, forcing a settlement thereafter.

Shalimar and the rest of our attorneys make it their mission to ensure that companies promulgate adequate safety standards for all workers. Her career is centered around holding large companies accountable for their actions which result in harm to employees they view as just a “number.” She shapes her practice around making sure that clients know they are more than just a “number”. Shalimar and her team will fight to protect families so that others don’t lose their lives because of the inadequacies of corporations. Keep fighting the good fight, team!

$750,000 Auto Accident Settlement

Attorney Meredith Drukker Stratigopoulos is ready to spring into action to help her clients whenever they need her. In her most recent settlement, her client was in his lane, traveling at the speed of traffic when the defendant rear-ended out client and threw him off the road so hard that his vehicle flipped. Our client was fortunate to walk away from the accident with his life but still suffered serious injuries to his back.

From the very beginning of the case Meredith with help from Attorney Oscar Quiroz, along with their team, took an aggressive approach to the litigation process to submit all evidence and a quick trial timetable. This proved effective because her client was able to settle their case for $750,000.

We are so proud of this team and their steadfast work ethic to help reduce the amount of time our client had to delay their road to recovery. They hit the ground running as soon as they could, and the results reflected that.

Great job, team!

Breach of Contract Settlement

Our firm represents companies who need to sue other companies for hundreds of millions of dollars. Attorney Mark Fassold has successfully represented:
(1) a national petroleum refiner who needed to sue a power company for destroying one of the client’s refineries,
(2) the person who invented the camera phone who needed to sue Apple, Samsung, and every cell phone manufacturer in the world for patent infringement, and
(3) a chemical manufacturer who needed to sue a bank for violations of the Uniform Commercial Code in addition to numerous other companies.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have represented those clients in specialized courts including the Court of International Trade and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

In our latest settlement, Attorneys Mark Fassold, Caleb Rackley, Julie Matsen, and Victoria Frazier along with their team, represented a medical device manufacturer who sold a medical device to another company in exchange for, among other things, the promise to use “commercially reasonable efforts” to develop the medical device that would lead to additional money in the form of royalties. We filed that lawsuit in one of the nation’s most sophisticated commercial courts – Delaware State Court.

Our team dissected contracts that were hundreds of pages long and responded to countless frivolous motions designed to deter our fight. Mark argued before the assigned Delaware State Court judge and defeated each and every motion designed to dismiss the lawsuit. He did that opposite one of the most sophisticated commercial litigation law firms in the world – opposing counsel was a former law clerk to two of the most respected jurists in our nation’s history – Justice Scalia and Judge Posner. Our team’s success in court ultimately achieved a confidential settlement.

Great job to Mark and his team for being relentless. We are proud to have you on our team!
