Julie Matsen received her Bachelor of Arts from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University in 2014, graduating magna cum laude with a major in English and a minor in anthropology. Before she attended law school, she was a legal assistant at the Office of the Texas Attorney General, Tort Litigation Division, where she developed a passion for advocacy that led her to attend Baylor Law School.

During law school, Julie interned for The Honorable Jeffrey C. Manske in Waco, Texas and clerked for Watts Guerra, LLP in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to completing the rigorous Practice Court advocacy training program, she also fulfilled the requirements for Professional Tracks in Estate Planning, Family Law Practice, and General Civil Litigation.
Julie was recognized by Baylor Law School as a Public Interest Fellow for her outstanding public service work performed while a student. She served as the Vice President of the Baylor Public Interest Legal Society, a student member of the Judge Abner V. McCall American Inn of Court, and a volunteer at several legal clinics.
After graduating with her Juris Doctorate in 2022, Julie joined the Baylor Law School writing faculty as their Legal Writing Associate. She then returned to Watts Guerra, LLP as an associate attorney later that year. In 2024, Julie transitioned to the newly formed Guerra LLP as an Associate Attorney.
Julie is licensed in Arizona and Texas. In her free time, Julie enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends, including her cats, Binx and Marie.
