2025 New Partners – Oscar Quiroz and Lance Kimbro

We are pleased to announce two well-deserved promotions at Guerra LLP. Associate attorneys Oscar Quiroz and Lance Kimbro are two hardworking and talented litigators who have honed their skills and are ready for the next step of their careers, Partners!

Oscar has been with our firm since 2014. He began first as a project manager assisting in a variety of cases from civil litigation to becoming an essential team member in our complex wildfire cases out in California. His steadfast work ethic never ceased, even while in law school at St. Mary’s University, Oscar still managed to work full-time with us and graduate cum laude in 2020. As an Attorney, Oscar has focused on obtaining justice for clients while achieving high-level results. He has a very intricate civil litigation, class action, and mass tort docket where he has achieved many high-dollar settlements. We know now as a Partner Oscar will remain being someone our firm trusts and relies upon to ensure that cases have a strong foundation so when they enter the courtroom, our clients have a solid argument for their cases.

Lance joined us first as a Grasshopper while also attending law school at St. Mary’s University. He balances his professional responsibilities with his roles as a dedicated husband and father of two. He focuses on high-stakes civil and commercial litigation, where he has played a key role in securing complex settlements for his clients. Lance approaches every challenge with determination, driven by his commitment to achieving justice. As a Partner he remains dedicated to giving back by providing top-tier legal representation to those in need during their most challenging times, ensuring that future generations have access to justice and the opportunity for a better life.

$4,850,000 Maritime Death Settlement

We are proud to announce a significant victory in a maritime death case, securing a recovery of **$4,850,000** for the grieving mother of a loved one lost in a tragic accident at sea.

Six Figure Rideshare Settlement

Rideshares call for passengers to put their trust in drivers they have never met before in the hopes that they will arrive at their destination safely, but unfortunately, that does not always happen.

Our client, a combat veteran, was seriously injured in a collision while driving to work when a rideshare driver made an unprotected left turn in front of him, resulting in a T-bone impact. The crash aggravated our client’s pre-existing neck, back, and knee injuries, necessitating surgery and rendering him unable to perform his job duties.

Our attorneys Jorge Mares and Lance Kimbro were called into action to help this veteran. With the help of their team, they immediately began working to ensure that justice would be delivered. They created iron-clad arguments with unmovable foundations to help bring a settlement to our client for the very high six figures.

Reckless Driving Auto Accident Settlement

Attorneys Rebecca Page and Lance Kimbro along with their team created a strong foundation of proof to help settle a case for our client who was a victim of reckless driving.

The defendant, a commercial truck driver, was driving egregiously weaving in and out of traffic while merging on and off the highway. The driver attempted to go straight through an intersection in a left turn-only lane which ultimately caused him to crash into our client. Through meticulous groundwork, our team was able to find video footage that supported the defendant’s dangerous driving, resulting in a settlement for our client.

Rebecca makes it a point to be the strongest advocate for her clients. She understands the hardship that a client endures and works relentlessly to ensure that every aspect of a case is explored. Oilfield Accident Settlement

Texas is the top crude oil-producing state in the US as of 2022 with 42.5% of the country’s production. This industry is inherently dangerous and has, on average, well over 100 accidents each year according to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement.

Our client was assembling an oil rig under the direction of the company’s employees when he tragically fell into an open ‘cellar’ – a hole approximately 10 feet deep under the oil well itself – due to negligent guidance and lack of safety precautions. Despite being a contracted employee, the company who hired him was held liable for our client’s injuries.

The settlement underscores our firm’s relentless pursuit to hold negligent contractors accountable when they fail to ensure a safe working environment. Their negligence in not covering the open cellar, a basic industry practice, led to this unfortunate accident.
