$825,000 Company Vehicle Accident Settlement

Car insurance is a necessity for drivers to offer financial protection whenever an accident occurs. This coverage can help with legal fees, medical expenses, or lost income of another driver if you cause an accident. However, what if you were a victim of an accident?

In this case, a company vehicle failed to yield the right of way to our clients, when making an unprotected left hand turn, and caused a serious T-bone collision. The insurance company failed to accept responsibility for the crash and instead tried to make the case about our client’s great improvement from her surgeries that were necessary as a result of the crash.

Summer camps are a place where children and teenagers can explore their interests, make new friends, and create lifelong memories. However, they can also be a place where sexual assaults occur. While summer camp sexual assaults are not new, they are receiving increased attention as survivors share their stories and demand accountability from camp administrators. The effects of child sexual abuse can be long-lasting and significantly impact victims’ mental health. Victims are more likely to develop symptoms of drug abuse, experience PTSD as adults, and experience major depressive episodes as adults [2]. The prevalence of sexual violence in summer camps is a serious concern that demands immediate attention and action.

Trucking Accident Settlement

Some trucking companies try to avoid liability for negligent driving by contracting with independent truck drivers rather than hiring drivers as employees. The worst companies think this relieves them of the duty to ensure their drivers have acceptable driving histories and follow safety regulations.

In this case, a contracted driver on his way to a mechanic slammed into the rear of our clients while they were stopped at a stoplight. The trucking company claimed it was not liable for its contractor driver because he was not hauling a load for them at the time of the crash. Shockingly, the company also claimed that driving a loaded 18-wheeler while a check engine light is illuminated is not an unsafe practice.

$1.55 Million Company Vehicle Auto Accident Settlement

Dashboard cameras are set in place to help hold drivers accountable and encourage safe driving. These technological tools can sometimes be key evidence in a car accident to help determine how an accident occurred and who the at-fault party is.

In this case, a company vehicle was caught failing to yield to the right of way on camera, by another motorist. This traffic violation led to a chain of events that resulted in a violent crash that was fortunately all recorded. The vehicle that had the right of way swerved to avoid hitting the company vehicle and ended up hitting our clients who were waiting innocently at a stop light. Unfortunately, this accident severely injured our client, forcing him to have to undergo several surgeries. However, with the video evidence, our client was given the justice he deserved.

Attorneys Jorge Mares and Chloe Shrode along with their team created an ironclad argument for their case which resulted in the insurance company overturning their original denial of the claim just before trial. The insurance company accepted responsibility and settled to pay our client $1,550,000. The relentless pursuit of justice our team maintained resulted in the at-fault party accepting accountability so our client could be fairly compensated. Way to go, team!
