The client’s father–working for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Association–was surveying the Big Horn Sheep population in Big Bend when the helicopter he was riding in crashed. The pilot failed to account for the weight of the helicopter/ambient temperatures so that the helicopter ran out of gas. The pilot walked away from the crash, however, the other three passengers were tragically killed. Our clients’ father initially survived the crash and crawled away from the wreckage before he ultimately passed away from his injuries.
With a clear mission to secure full and fair compensation, Shalimar, our aviation expert, pursued justice without compromise. Along with her team, they created an iron-clad case to sue both the company that operated the helicopter service and employed the pilot, as well as the company that manufactured and designed the rotor blades. In the end, the defendants were forced to settle when their last-ditch effort for a Motion to Continue the trial setting was denied, causing them to begin the process to accept the terms of our demand. Plaintiffs received an eight-figure settlement thanks to the expert litigating of Shalimar and the team.
