The word that described our firm in 2022 was “relentless”. We were relentless in our pursuit of justice for our clients, relentless in our dedication to the litigation process, and relentless in our mission to make not just our city, but the world a better place.
In 2024 our law firm underwent a collaborative and strategic restructuring and we have now become Guerra LLP! So while this post applied to our previous namesake, some things will never change, like our unrelenting work ethic. With decades of experience on our staff that you are familiar with, our team is remaining steadfast in our mission to continue to fight the good fight for our current and future clients.
In case you missed it, here were our 2022 goals!
Much like last year, we like to take the beginning of the year to set goals for the upcoming year. We do this each year to help usher our growth and ultimately hold us accountable for the accomplishments we hope to achieve.
Below you will find our top five goals for 2023. We hope to remain steadfast in our work ethic in order to accomplish them by the year’s end.
5. Open Our New Office in “The Pearl” Area of San Antonio
Our practice is growing at a steady rate resulting in a lot of growing pains due to space. Last year we opened a new office in Puerto Rico and started building our new office at the Creamery building in the Pearl. Our goal for our new office was to bring together both of our San Antonio offices under one roof to streamline our law firm further.
Building an office space out of a historical building takes time and unfaltering dedication by many to achieve. This dream for a new office space will be coming to fruition in the first part of this year and we are elated.
During our time transitioning office spaces, our goal is to make our move as seamless as possible for not only our clients but employees as well. Minimizing interruptions and focusing on the needs of others are our highest priorities.
4. Get (More) Involved in the Community
In 2022 we made it our mission to help those around us in our community. We supported local schools, teachers, and programs by providing classroom supplies, funding athletic teams, or helping fund other necessary essentials to benefit students. Local organizations like the San Antonio Rodeo, Food Bank, and other community events were all also able to be supported by our employees and firm which helped us achieve our goal.
This year we hope to volunteer and give back even more to our community. It is our goal to help the current and next generations achieve their dreams any chance we can.
3. Continue to Build a “One-of-a-Kind” Law Clerk Program (“The Grasshoppers”)
An average of twenty aspiring attorneys fill our grasshopper program at any given time. They consist of students who are currently in law school or those who might be considering law school all coming together to help our attorneys complete case-essential documents.
While in our program the clerks are able to sit in, prepare for, and witness depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials. During their time here they also made valuable connections with professionals in the legal field by attending local legal events. This fully immersive program is constantly growing and changing to fit the needs of the ever-evolving legal landscape. We want to continue to make it our goal for those who become a part of the program to gain experience to prepare them for the next stage in their career.
2. Develop and Mentor the Next Generation of Successful Attorneys
Whether you are a part of the Watts Guerra family or not, our attorneys make an effort to help those in the legal community. During the year many of our attorneys, including Capital Partner Frank Guerra, travel around to provide seminars on various legal topics. Our attorneys are also involved in many location organizations like SAYLA, TTLA, and ABOTA where they interact and network with others.
Within our firm, we focused internally on the development and growth of our attorneys. We were able to promote six former grasshoppers to Associate Attorneys this past year. They are becoming seasoned attorneys thanks to our Income Partners taking them under their wings and guiding them in their careers.
As 2023 progresses we hope that our lawyers continue to work together so we create an even stronger foundation to fight cases for our clients with a never-ending resource of intellect and expertise to rely upon.

1. Continue to Consistently Help Our Clients Obtain the Justice They Deserve
This will always be one of our goals each year at our firm. Our success entirely revolves around client service and ensuring that our clients’ needs are being met. We plan to continue to remain a source of hope and help for those who come to us in a time of stress and uncertainty. Our unmatched dedication and work ethic that every member of our team has for every case is what we plan to bring to the table in order to assist anyone who needs us in 2023.
