3M EARPLUGS
In one of the largest mass torts in U.S. history, a federal jury found that 3M Company, under the leadership of CEO Mike Roman, knowingly supplied the U.S. military with defective dual-ended Combat Arms™ earplugs. These earplugs were intended to protect service members from hearing damage during combat and training, but a critical design flaw left thousands vulnerable to hearing loss and tinnitus.
Service members across the country reported permanent auditory injuries after using the earplugs, which failed to maintain a proper seal in the ear canal. The defect went undisclosed for years, despite internal testing that revealed the issue.

CHLORPYRIFOS
Chlorpyrifos is a powerful pesticide that was widely used on fruits, vegetables, and other crops across the United States for decades. Despite its widespread use, extensive scientific research has shown that exposure to chlorpyrifos, particularly during pregnancy or early childhood, can cause permanent, irreversible brain damage in children.

These risks were well-documented over the last twenty years, yet the chemical remained on the market long after its dangers were known.

EATON FIRE
The Eaton Fire broke out on the evening of January 7, 2024, in the Eaton Canyon area near Altadena, California. Fueled by dense brush and high winds, the fire spread aggressively overnight. By the following morning, it had burned over 10,000 acres, prompting evacuations, threatening homes, and blanketing surrounding communities in smoke and ash.
Although the fire was eventually contained, its impact continues to be felt. Families, homeowners, and business owners are left dealing with serious property damage, financial loss, and emotional distress.

MCBRIDE FIRE
The McBride Fire began on April 12, 2022, in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Fanned by powerful winds and dry conditions, the fire moved rapidly through residential neighborhoods, ultimately destroying more than 200 homes, forcing mass evacuations, and resulting in two confirmed fatalities. The fire was fully contained days later, but the damage left behind was devastating.
In the aftermath, families, businesses, and entire communities were left coping with immense property loss, emotional trauma, and uncertainty. At Guerra LLP, we are proud to represent victims of the McBride Fire in their pursuit of answers and accountability.

JUUL
Marketed as a sleek, modern alternative to cigarettes, the JUUL e-cigarette quickly became one of the most widely used vaping products in the United States, particularly among teens and young adults. What many users didn’t know was that JUUL pods contained highly concentrated nicotine, often equal to or exceeding the levels found in traditional cigarettes and posed serious risks of addiction and long-term harm.
Aggressive marketing, flavored cartridges, and social media campaigns made JUUL especially appealing to youth. By 2018, JUUL held over 75% of the e-cigarette market, and usage among individuals aged 18–21 had skyrocketed by 400% in just one year. According to the Truth Initiative, over half of JUUL users tried it before the age of 18, often unaware of the health consequences or addictive potential.

SMOKEHOUSE CREEK FIRE – TEXAS PANHANDLE (FEB 2024)
On February 26, 2024, the Smokehouse Creek Fire erupted in the Texas Panhandle, quickly becoming the largest wildfire in state history. Fueled by extreme wind and dry conditions, the fire tore through over 1 million acres, devastating ranches, homes, and entire communities in its path.

SPACE X ROCKET DEBRIS INCIDENT - SOUTH TX (2024)
In 2024, following a major SpaceX rocket launch from its Boca Chica facility in South Texas, residents and property owners across surrounding communities reported damage from falling debris, shockwaves, and environmental disruption. The launch, part of ongoing experimental testing at the site, raised serious concerns about public safety, property rights, and corporate accountability.
Local families and landowners experienced a range of impacts, from broken windows and structural damage to displaced wildlife, airborne debris, and restricted access to their own property.
