Oscar was born in Torrance, California, and raised partly in southern California before migrating to Helotes, Texas in 2006. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science at Texas A&M University in 2014. Accepting a position with Watts Guerra a week later after graduation, Oscar started as a project manager for the firm’s prompt pay docket.

Accepting a position with Watts Guerra a week later after graduation, Oscar started as a project manager for the firm’s prompt pay docket.
For two years, Oscar worked on everything from commercial trucking cases to complex mass tort litigation at Watts Guerra when he decided to begin St. Mary’s School of Law in 2016. Working at Watts Guerra throughout law school, Oscar graduated from St. Mary’s in 2020, cum laude, and was inducted into the John M. Harlan Society—an honorary organization recognizing students who excelled academically.
During law school, Oscar felt a strong calling to give back to the community. He volunteered for multiple pro bono programs including Alternative Spring Break – Southwest Louisiana Legal Services, Veterans Community Justice Program, ID Recovery for the Indigent, and Ask-A-Lawyer. For his continued pro bono services, Oscar received the State Bar of Texas Law Student Pro Bono College award.
Oscar was also heavily involved in extracurricular activities within the law school. He served as the Student Bar Association’s liaison with the San Antonio Lawyer’s Association, was elected President of the Real Estate and Construction Law Association, competed in the External Advocacy Program’s National Alternative Dispute Resolution team, and was a student member of multiple student organizations. Oscar’s favorite memory from law school is traveling to Austria to study international business law at the University of Innsbruck.
Upon graduation from law school, Oscar spent almost a year traveling around California and Oregon helping wildfire victims with their cases against negligent power companies. Oscar is now an Associate Attorney at Watts Guerra whose practice focuses on personal injury, mass torts, harmful pharmaceuticals, and commercial litigation.
In his free time, Oscar enjoys spending time in the outdoors, fishing, cooking, and traveling.
