At Watts Guerra we spent the first month of 2021 taking the time to hone in on our goals for the upcoming year. We pooled together a list of all that 2020 provided our law firm, both good and bad, and decided what we wanted to carry forward into this year as well as what we wanted to grow from what occurred last year. Below are our top five goals for 2021:
In 2024 our law firm underwent a collaborative and strategic restructuring, and we have now become Guerra LLP! So, while this post applied to our previous namesake, some things will never change, like our unrelenting work ethic. With decades of experience on our staff that you are familiar with, our team is remaining steadfast in our mission to continue to fight the good fight for our current and future clients.

1. Renovate our Mass Tort Office
Although we will all be moving downtown soon, we have two offices in San Antonio that we operate out of at the present time. One office is located at the Dominion in San Antonio. It is home to our civil litigation side of the business with many attorneys, paralegals, and office staff working at this location. A few exits down I-10 as you head towards the city, you will find our mass tort office. Inside this office building is the staff who handles all of our large mass tort cases. From JUUL to wildfires, military housing, and pharmaceuticals, these people work hard for our thousands of clients.
The interior of our mass tort office has not seen any redecorating for years so the partner in charge of our principal mass tort office, Alicia O’Neill, decided it was time to make some changes. While the renovation is currently in progress, it is amazing what removing old cubicles and adding a little paint can do for a workspace. Stay tuned for the final result, but in the meantime, enjoy this “before” shot!
2. Continue to Grow in San Antonio
Last year we were fortunate enough to add eight attorneys to our team. On top of that, we added over 30 staff members. We love our city of San Antonio and want to continue to expand our office. This year we do not plan on scaling back. Our clients come first and guiding their cases through the litigation process seamlessly begins and ends with our team.
3. Community Service
In 2020 we were able to participate in many charitable events that directly benefited our community. We sponsored local school programs and teachers, donated to our local food bank, sponsored our local Special Olympics chapter, as well as volunteered and donated to the Wounded Service Members portion of the San Antonio Rodeo (to name a few). This year we hope to contribute to our community even more to help keep San Antonio the best place to live!
4. Expand our Law Clerk Program (“The Grasshoppers”)
Our law clerks, also known as “grasshoppers”, are all top-notch aspiring attorneys and are the future of our law firm. We have a mixture of undergraduate and law school students that are trained by and get to work with our attorneys on a daily basis. The clerks are able to sit in, prepare for, and witness depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials while also getting to have one on one conversations with judges. We hope to grow our program so it benefits current and future law clerks through even more education, access, and guidance in the legal field.
5. Continue to Consistently Help our Clients Obtain the Justice they Deserve
Our success completely revolves around client service. Ensuring that our clients’ needs are always number one on our priority list is always something that we strive for every year. We know that our clients come to us in a time of crisis and uncertainty. It is our goal to make sure that we help eliminate the stress of their situation through working hard and providing unmatched dedication. Our attorneys and staff have an exceptional work ethic that makes us proud to have them on our team!
